I feel like an "About" section should be filled with something actually worth noting, and while I'd love to tell you all of my great feats, I'm afraid the bards will never sing of them! As it turns out, bards prefer heroic deeds that don't involve loading the dishwasher in 3 minutes flat, making sure everyone has clean laundry, or (mostly) keeping your sanity as you raise children. Sigh. As a result I am forced to write my own music and shamelessly beg my friends and family to sing for me instead. Gratefully, they are all incredibly good sports about it--I truly have amazing friends and family. If my greatest feat were actually worth noting, it is the people I've managed to surround myself with. The amazing man I married, the wonderful souls who have braved our home as our children, and the incredible people I have procured as friends are truly my greatest accomplishment. (The family I was born into is quite fabulous as well, but that was pure luck on my part!) As a matter of fact, I've primarily created this website for all of them to have access to my music so that they don't have deal with the fact that I am really bad at emailing things when I say I will.........
For those of you who have stumbled on this website and actually don't know anything about me, I'll include a few (hopefully) interesting things: I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I also love being a mom to my three fabulous kiddos, and a wife to my fantastic husband who is really good at turning anything mundane into something really fun (an incredibly useful talent!). I am a "lifer" when it comes to music; I think I was born with music in my soul and can't remember a time when it didn't feel like it was part of who I was. One of my earliest childhood memories actually involves the piano. Around the time I was probably about 3-4 years old, I vividly recall trying to pick out a melody on our ancient looking upright; the song was "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and I'm guessing I'd heard it at preschool or in nursery at church. Memories are strange because around that same time I also remember wrangling some unruly slugs for a "snail farm" my siblings and I made in our front yard. The snail farm went belly up (shell up?) and my interest in bugs didn't end up panning out much past my 8th year of life; so here I am some 30+ years later, still picking out tunes on the piano! I love almost all music, but find that composing sacred music fills my soul in a way that nothing else does. I hope you find something on this site that fills your soul as well.
